| IC3012N
Stepless-type, Desk-mounted
WHERE
TO USE
Use
on cranes, electric shovels, steel mills and other variable
speed drives.
The
selection of the stepless element should be based on the
required power of the reference signal.
The
compactness of the switch and its desk-mounting feature
not only save valuable cab space, but provide for better
visibility and efficiency of the operator. This is particularly
desirable where the operator has numerous motions to control.
This master switch can be mounted on a desk or console
or it can be furnished with NEMA 1, pedestal-type, free-standing
enclosure.
SEVERE-DUTY
APPLICATIONS
All
IC3012N master switches include sealed ball bearings throughout.
These sealed ball bearings protect heavy wear points against
dirt and dust, and provide longer life, smoother operation,
and less maintenance. This standard feature is particularly
advantageous in severe-duty applications such as electric
power shovels and draglines.
RHEOSTAT
TYPE
For
use in circuits requiring stepless elements with output
capacity of 100 watts. This switch is available with maximum
of 8 independent circuits and maximum of two rheostat
elements mounted on the bottom.
Each
four-inch rheostat element is rated 100 watts maximum
with standard ohmic values.
STANDARD
POTENTIOMETER TYPE
For
use in circuits requiring a stepless element with output
capacity of 2 watts. This switch is available with maximum
of 4 independent circuits. Standard offering includes
one 2-watt potentiometer mounted on bottom of switch with
standard ohmic values.
SEVERE
SHOCK AND VIBRATION POTENTIOMETER TYPE
This
switch is available with maximum of 8 independent circuits
and includes one 2.5-watt 2500-ohm potentiometer.
INDUCTION
TYPE
The
IC3012 stepless induction master switch consists of the
popular IC3012N desk-mounted master switch with a diffential
transformer mounted on the end of the shaft. The differential
transformer consists of a stator with three coils and
a uniquely shaped rotor. As the handle position is changed,
the rotor changes the amount of coupling between the three
coils of the stator and produces an output. In the low-speed
range where fineness of control is desired, a large change
in handle position provides a small change in output.
At high speeds where a fast response is required, a small
change in handle position provides a large change in output.
The
neutral, or OFF position, is notched to provide positive
position ‘‘feel.’’ All other points
are un-notched to provide the operator with a truly smooth,
stepless ‘‘feel.’’ The switch
produces no torque to oppose movement of the handle, minimizing
operator fatigue. Contacts are used for directional purposes
to select the reversing contactors.
The
primary coil has a maximum rating of 125 volts. Any change
in the input voltage will directly affect the output characteristics.
